Statue of the week: number 38

June 30, 2011

We haven’t been to the National Theatre for a while, so today we return.  Also you get 3 for the price of 1 – what a bargin!!!!  The focus of this group is Ludvig Holberg (1684 – 1754).  He was born in Bergen, Norway, but spent much of his adult life in Denmark.  He was a writer, penning satires, research papers and a novel. He is said to be characterised by humanism, the Enlightenment and the Baroque period in which he lived.  Who the other two people are in the statue group I don’t know 🙂

The two other people are Henrik and Pernille, characters from his plays, the classical impertinent servants.
